  • Anti-Ragging Committee

    The word 'Ragging' means the acts of teasing, taunting, playing a practical joke upon someone or holding comic parades and other activities during certain period of college term to raise money for charity.

    "Causing including, compelling or forcing a student, whether by way of practical joke or otherwise to do any act which distract from human dignity or violates his person or exposes him to ridicule or forbear from doing any lawful act, by intimidating, wrongfully confining or injuring him or by using criminal force to him, or by holding out to him any threat of such intimidation, wrongful restraint, wrongful confinement, injury or the use of criminal force."

    Punishment of Ragging

    The following could be the possible punishment for those who are found guilty of participation in, or abetment of ragging. The Quantum of punishment shall, naturally, depend upon the nature and gravity of the offence as established by the disciplinary committee or the Court of Law

    • Cancellation of admission.
    • Suspension from attending classes.
    • Withholding/withdrawing Scholarship/ fellowship and other benefits.
    • Debarring from appearing in any test / examination or other evaluation process.
    • Withholding results.
    • Debarring from representing the institution in any National or international tournament, youth festival.
    • Suspension, Expulsion from the hostel.
    • Restriction from the institution for period varying from 1 to 4 semester.
    • Expulsion from the institution and consequent debarring from admission to any other institutions.
    • Fine up to Rs.25, 000/
    • Rigorous imprisonment up to 3 year.

  • Grievance Redressal Committee


    The grievance redressal cell enquires about the grievances brought to its notice and suggests the action to be taken at the institutional level for its redressal. Students can approach the committee members, if he/she has any grievance regarding academic and non-academic matters and the committee will take action as required.


    • Provide a support system for the students to address their grievances.
    • Initiate proactive measures to redress the grievances of the students.
    • Analyze the complaints and representations of aggrieved students and to take coordinated action with the relevant authorities for redressal.
    • Receive suggestions periodically from the students for improvement.


    • Grievances at departmental level are governed by the concerned mentors, class coordinators and department heads immediately without delay.
    • Unresolved grievances at the departmental level are then referred to the grievance redressal cell of the institution

    • Any type of sexual harassment – physical, verbal or mental, shall come under the purview of the Cell and it is empowered to initiate legal actions against such offences. Appropriate and prompt actions are assured to complain approaching the cell

    Role and Responsibilities:

    • To investigate and identified that accused

    • To ensure that appropriate action is taken against the offender.

    • To ensure that victim and witnesses are not victimized or discriminated against because of their complaint


    • The Cell will deal with the cases / complaints of sexual harassment and any other type of harassment of the female students, teaching and non-teaching women staff of the institute.

    • The Cell shall process all the individual complaints and take suitable action thereon in the manner and mode as per the institute norms.

    • The Cell will provide assistance to the Faculties/Colleges/Institutes for taking preventive steps in the matter of gender discrimination and sexual harassment.

    • The Cell may form / review the guidelines / policy for redressal of the grievance as required from time to time, which may be in accordance with those issued by Supreme Court and Government Agencies.


    • Educating youth about the importance of equality and respect for all, in growth and development of a nation.

    • Awareness about legal implications of harassment to act as a deterrent to offensive behavior.

    • Empowering women with knowledge and support.
