The department being an integral and basic part of the college focuses on promoting the discovery and application of scientific knowledge in a manner that prepares the students to contribute effectively, intellectually and ethically as citizens of a dynamic scientific community. The foundation of engineering education is laid through the knowledge of basic principles of Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics, Communication Skills, Basics of Computing, and Basics of Electronics etc. Engineering is incomplete without application of science and Technology. No wonder that lot of stress is given on these subjects in engineering education. Since the beginning, the department is progressing to keep the rapport between the latest technological changes and the need of the students who have to face the global challenges. There is more hands on practice, projects, mini-model competition for students in turn to cope up with the industrial rpequirements.

    Civil engineering primarily covers activities of engineering discipline from planning, designing and construction of buildings to development of water supplying structures. Civil engineering industry also encompasses areas like soil and rock mechanics, surveying, material science and environmental science

    Besides designing, planning or construction of buildings, some other major application fields of civil engineering industry are management of residential and commercial buildings, transportation system, fields regarding water supplying activities, and environmental fields, which is basically studied for the maintenance and enhancement of quality of life. Civil engineering specifically deals with the activities of designing and construction of structures like bridges, dams, harbors, canals, roads, tunnels, and water-supply systems, power plants, aircraft, water-treatment plants etc.

    Civil engineering has the potential to build a strong economy and so more multinational companies and engineers are showing their interests to be involved with this industry. With the development of society and because of technological advancement, demands of civil engineering activities are also increasing.

    2) About Course:

    Civil Engineering

    Designing and building of structures, including buildings, roads and bridges come under the scope of education in Civil Engineering. The students who have attained a degree in this branch can work in both the Government and Private sectors. There is a lot of scope for advancement, for those professional engineers who have immense experience in this field. In fact, the students belonging to these programs can also take classes in Mathematics, Chemistry, Engineering principles and Physics. For those civil engineers who aspire to provide services to the public, a license is imperative.

    Eligibility Criteria:-

    For open candidate-

    • Candidate must have scored a minimum of 50% aggregate percentage in HSSC For category candidate-

    • Candidate must have scored a minimum of45% aggregate percentage in HSSC

    In either of the candidature the applicant must have appeared in Entrance exams of MHCET and JEE Mains with a non zero score.

    Electrical engineering is a field of engineering that generally deals with the study and application of electricity, electronics and electromagnetism. For this purpose they are given the responsibility of designing electrical appliances as well as the wiring system of electricity to ensure supply of electricity to these appliances. Electrical engineers are concerned with designing the flight systems of aircrafts and rocket propulsion systems. Industrial automation and automobile control system design are also a part of electrical engineering. Electrical engineering has an important role to play in many other fields of study. For instance, signal processing makes use of the principles of electrical engineering in modifying the digital and analog nature of the signals to obtain the required output.

It is the branch of engineering that involves the production and usage of heat and mechanical power for the design, production, and operation of machines and tools. It is one of the oldest and broadest engineering disciplines at GHRCE. Major areas of mechanical engineering industry include designing, manufacturing, finding out the strength of materials or the amount of heat transfers or energy conversion, studying solid mechanics, thermodynamics, fluid mechanics, instrumentation and measurement etc. Mechanical engineers use these core principles along with tools like computer-aided engineering and product lifecycle management to design and analyze manufacturing plants, industrial equipment and machinery, heating and cooling systems, transport systems, aircraft, watercraft, robotics, medical devices and more.

    In a way, mechanical engineers are involved in creating the future. They are the driving force behind many of our technologies and industrial processes including innovative products like mobiles, PCs and DVD etc in our modern world. The work of a Mechanical Engineer can be extremely challenging and fulfilling, requiring IT, design and analytical skills together with an ability to work as a team. It continues to be the earliest and most comprehensive regimen of Engineering.
